I gave the SLK a nice coat of Meguairs Ultimate Wax today - on top of the paint sealant I treated it with last time - and I have to say, it's good stuff. I've been using it a while now and it really beads water well; plus dirt and road grime does not seem to stick to the car as much.....

If it's dry on Saturday, then I'll do the same to the ZX, ready for winter....

I'm using poor boys ATM, diamond white, with their wax. The cars not been cleaned since haynes. It's still shiney under the dust. Really good products. I used auto gleam for years, then switched to meiguiers which was good but the poor boys was even better.

I normally use Dodo Juice, but it can be a bitch to buff off. So with the Zed being in need of a paint job anyway, I have been using up the half bottle of Meg Ultimate I had in the garage. Like you, I gotta say it does really well for something I would consider a budget wax.

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

I have heard good things about that Steve... Trouble is, when I start to run out of product, I just nip to Halfords; rather than wait for mail order stuff to arrive!! I've used other Meguairs products (Gold Class and NXT) but they just don't seem to be that durable - this Ultimate works well though.

Richard.. tut tut tut.. lol.. Nezz21 can supply the poorboys..

On a serious note car looks mint. ive just switched to poorboys on Greigs and Daffys advice and its absolutely ace.

Polish it with Autoglym resin for the chav summer shine and then a couple of coats of wax, lasts 6 months.

the autoglym spray on tyre dressing is good just to give it that showroom look as well..

Il admitt I'm equally impatient, my local motor factors started selling it. One of the guys has a detailing business so good advice and range of cleaning products.

Thanks for the mention, poorboys is personal favourite aswell. Having said that I have recently done my mums car with the Orchard range which came up really really well and didnt take long at all, mainly down to using their speed seal and speed wax. Have changed my mates mind as he was an autoglym junkie.

Always happy to help anyone that needs it either through supplying products or just advice!

Cheers

Greig
