whats the best stuff to recover the targa trim with, although mine was actually in pretty good condition when i got the car, its now sagging and coming away, id like to renew this or at least recover it so as to not look nasty, but whats the best stuff that matches the interior?

What about fake leather or vinyl? You wouldn't need much and you could use the old one to make a template.

id rather try and get the same texture / color if i could, was wondering if anyone has actually retrimmed it and what with, and did it match the rest of the interior?

Im doing this job as we speak it's not hard to do. But I did find all the foam backing from the leatherette had detached from the leatherette but it was still stuck to the targa panel that can get messy. After cleaning it off it's pretty straight forward job.

what are you using matey?

Rolandas i cant reuse the old stuff, its too stiff and rippled. hence why i want to renew it.

Yes you can. Heat will help to strech it

Have you tried woolies?

They do a very wide selection of interior trim.

Alz.

id still prefer to actually just replace it rather than attempt to fit the old stuff back on in any sort of way. id most likely just end up with the same issue i have now later on down the line.

I have just completed mine a month or so ago. I used a black patterned vinyl and also had the pain in the bum rotten old foam backing orange stuff......lol

Took me a while to rub it off, but now they look nice and new.....

I took Mondo's suggestion and used the trim glue he recommended......

Just take your time......

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Yea in 20 years :)

I used leather, i also did the top sections of the rear panels next to the rear seats and matches fine :thumbup1:

I recovered mine with black leather effect vinyl from work. You're welcome to some, if you need it.
