A couple of months ago, my viscous fan coupling decided to spit out all it's oil, I replaced it with a second hand one (very kindly donated by bruce300).

This also has now decided to spray it's oil content all over the surrounding area....

Is there something causing this to happen or is it a pretty common occurrence? What's the best way forward - another viscous fan coupling or go the electric fan road?
