got my quote for extensive sill/rot repair issues all around the car at £1k for:

 

-full sill replacement + undersealed

-front turret suspension mount and inner wing rebuild

-leading edge rear arch/sill replacement and supporting internals.

 

this is for both sides of the car, and we see way too many of these old girls getting broken, and i've decided its about time we saw a few more getting rescued!

 

the cars by no means a rusty hulk but if i'm getting it done, i want all the usual problems dealt with so I never have to worry about them again.

 

cars MOT isnt for a couple of months, and I could probably get it through for far less BUT would just run into other issues in 12 months time on a diff part of the sill.

 

see you on the other side (in november anyway :P)

will do. i'm happy with how quick she is for now, 13.1 on the 1/4 mile wasnt too shabby - so its about getting all the boring bits fixed that let the car down slightly at the moment.

hey mate! yes she will live on :) Heres a clip of her living it up ;) Tinkered with a few bits since I took her on.. at the point where i cant really do a lot more power wise on standard injectors. not bad for 115k miles and fully loaded with everything still in the boot. :D

That's what I was quoted. Saying that, there might be bits and bobs to add on as with these jobs there's always more once you crack it all open :)

A quote is a quote mate. The garage has to carry out all the work detailed in the quote for the price stated :)

body/garages will and can really only quote for jobs that they see thats wrong

Yea I hear you mark. I took a shed load of pictures of the problem areas and emailed them over to Lynda. I'm no novice when it comes to repairs like this, and even if it's slightly more than this in the end, you don't go into something without a decent estimate! And given all the work will be done at once, by people who truly know what they are doing I'm sure it's all going to be worth it to see another zed saved!

rear sills 350 per side X 2= £700

 

rear arch per side £150 X 2 = £300

 

= £1000

 

And thats before you add on front struts and underseal.

 

think i can see what you are getting at, its not a "are you sure?" as an over estimation, but rather a lower figure than expected, especially considering he has also been quoted for the turret tops on the front of the car as well.

 

does seem a bargain of a price when you look at it that way. as it doesn't seem to even cover labor costs as well. sounds good to me lol

maybe he is not buying replacement panels but fabricating them instead

All I know is I would trust Jeff & Lynda to do a spot on job and they have been doing this long enough to know how much things cost......

They do have a guy on the fabrication side. Some infos on the zedworld website :) Cheers Russ! It's one of those jobs I've wanted to do since getting the car. This thread was meant to be about zed saviour not a price riot lol.

Yea when she's all done i'll get before and after pics up. She'll be going in November after payday. She'll look pretty tidy after this :)

 

Next year I can focus on the engine. Oil leak from the crank case is just enough to be annoying, not sure if I'll be going for more power yet, but if I do then she's at the point where I'd have to go down the forged route ;)
