How To- Subframe Bushes

Ok so I've not seen a write up for this so I thought I'd do one to show just how easy it is, I think this is one of the most overlooked things I can make a real difference when replaced,

This will show how to do polybushes and solid bushes.

Tools needed

Drill

Heavy hammer

Screw driver

Pry bar

Blow torch

48mm socket

Ok so here you can see the original bush there's an inner and outer collar,

The arrow and circle shows the inner bush, this is the one you need to remove when replacing with poly bushes

Firstly remove the strips of rubber from each side

Ok so I don't burn the old bush out I drill them, get your drill and go round the bush top and bottom this only takes a few min

Bottom

Once you've gone all the way round get a pry bar and wiggle the centre out

PLEASE DONT POST UNTIL IVE POSTED IT ALL UP

This is how it looks with the centre out

Next you need to take a screwdriver and knock the inner collar out

This is the one you need to remove for poly bushes

Flip the subframe I've and cut where I've put the ones

This allows the inner collar to come out

Here you can clearly see the inner and outer

Once you've removed that inner collar you can press in the new poly bush

Now there's abit more to the solid bushes as these are the ones I'm fitting ill show you more

So for the solid bushes you don't need to drill out the centre all you need is a 48mm socket and large hammer aswell as a blow torch

So flip the subframe over warm up the subframe where the bush sits, get your socket and place over, take a large hammer and start to knock out

You can see the outer collar start to move out

This is it knocked out

Then all you do is clean it up and knock the solid bushes in

And that's how it sits in, this subframe will now be shot blasted and powder coated then ill properly fit all the solid bushes

Hope you find this helpful if you want any more info drop me a pm
