Hi guys had the most boring day today...listening to hitler lol...

2 more days to go, dont think i can handle it the teacher is a proper jobs worth standing to attention near on saluting and he looks like hitler.

 

Why me lol, anyone else done this bloody course.

LOL!-been there done that!-at least our Teach was a down to Earth Yorkshireman who would have a laugh!:wink:

It wouldn't be so bad if vosa regulations weren't so bloody out of date and the fact they can never make their mind up how to test. Get 2 vosa reps and get 2 different opinions lol

 

The complete testers guide needs scrapping and restarting IMO

 

Seatbelt, nightmare, emissions, nightmare too many date of reg dependent changes, unclear test procedures, some crazy rulings such as have a slightly incorrect font on a number plate and instant failure, however have a different reg front to rear and you have to pass and ask what reg you would like to use sir lol

This guy whatever question u ask if u can fail the car he cant give a direct answer, just says consult your testers guide and its your decision.

That's fine mate, as long as you walk around the car in the right way and remember to shake the wheels in the correct way, jacked up on deck etc then you will be fine! They don't even really look at what you are testing and if the pass or fail decision is right most of the time, just how you follow procedure lol

 

Oh and they do like to ask a few questions, reasons for refusal to carry out a test is a popular one lol!

Sorry to hijack this but have you still got that plenum gasket still and is it intact and Ok to use.

I was going to order one from mjp but if you still have it.....

 

Going to pull the plenum and do a proper pcv hose job as I can see it's going to be a bitch with it on.

Also going to flush all that oil out in it before putting it back on.

Let me know if I need any torque settings to put the plenum back on.

If so I'll need your hand for 10mins after the jobs done one night.

 

I'm waiting for the SFS pipes. Not sure how long they're going to take to come.

But going to pull the plenum and get old pcv hoses off etc instead of doing it all in one hit.

Managed to replace the full fuel rail hoses the other week as the fuel was raining under my bonnet lol.

It's given me a bit of confidencev even though it took ferkin hours.

That took bas!!ard ages. Wow.

 

Both pcvs done with all 3 sfs hoses fitted.

As you look at the engine the drivers side pcv was stuck.

Had to shake it like fook to get it to come unstuck!

 

So that should be correct... If drivers side pcv was stuck and passenger turbo was smoking on the overrun then that's spot on.

 

I did double check all old hoses as Terry said there is a breather.

I found it on the rear pipe of passenger side hose, took it out and put it in the sfs hose (picture below).

 

The picture at the bottom.... Note the right hand pcv... that's the drivers side.
