hi guys after a lot of faffing my turbo timer i fitted into the spare din slot i have doesnt work with my clifford alarm so its of no use to me, i have a greddy profec fitted too but going to move it, question im asking is what should i put in the din slot?

i like the idea of gizmos and gadgets, dont want a blanking plate, took the dvd player out, i have a flip out screen in the top slot and cd changer in the boot, im fitting the gauges down the pillar......does anyone have any ideas what i could put there?? any good toys, was thinking of an apexi avcr??

I've got my Blitz idIII EBC and power meter in mine mate. I laser cut some MDF and sprayed it with plasti dip then used that to mount the meters flush. Looks great (I think). Will get pictures tomorrow when it's a nit lighter.

sounds nice mate! would have to change the profec b though and cant be fooked with taking all that out lol, quite fancy something that i can run along side my profec that still looks cool and actually has some practicality to it not just some flashing lights lol, although........ ;)

Gauges. It's about the ONLY thing I'd put there if I didn't have a double-din head unit.

Turbo timers IMO are a complete waste of time. Drive your car correctly, and you won't need one. Oil cools down far more quickly and circulates far better if you just cruise off boost and then you don't have to leave it idling for 10 minutes.

A cubby hole, this is what I put in. The lack of places to put anything irritated me.

What gauges are you putting on the pillar mate?

just changing the boost i already have, then a voltage as gonna have quite a bit of sound, then oil pressure and oil temp, i have a 4 pillar pod so gonna use that, didnt know if i could get some smaller gauges, less than 52mm to go in there which i would have a use for??

i do like the idea of gauges in there Si and agree turbo timers arent really needed, i had it so figured id use it, but doesnt work with my clifford anyway....

i have pockets in my jeans lol, other than that dont have anything really in the zed, dont even smoke in her...... :)

I'm not a fan of gauges in the din, always think it takes your eyes to far from the driving line. I know that a good few people are fine with it though, so probably just me :). Pretty sure that the 52mm gauges fit in there mate. So if that's what your after then why not..lol Don't know what you've got but maybe your volt and an AFR type one?

an apexi avcr fits in the slot just nicely enough to be able to drop it down and still use the cubby hole to put small things like parking change in.

Really need to get on and get her finished....

The EBC would look nicer in there if it was the black one... Anyone want to do a straight swap..... ....thought not...lol

I have an Apexi Super-AFC2 in one of mine. I intend to replace the MP3 player with another blanking plate and put the Apexi RSM into the second one.

must admit do really like the look of that bud!

Cheers bud :). I wanted it to look more 'fitted' than a lot of the pictures of them I've seen, where they just get stuck on a bit of wood with velcro. You can't really see from the pic but they are both mounted half in the frame, which in turn is built up behind and screwed onto the stereo mounting brackets. That way I can take the facia off and leave them in place. Also nice and solid to the touch.

I installed a ECUTalk consult LCD Display diagnostic monitor ,very handy little Din size tool, Look at the product under ECUTalk on the net.
