I can't remember ever seeing this in the list of things to check for poor running or idle..
the IGN COIL replay in the engine bay main fuse/relay box.
the pins can become rusted or loose, certainly worth a check (obviously it supplies power to the coils).
I saw this on another forum just the other day, the guy posted it because it was the cause of his bad running / hesitation .... checked cleaned, reseated and problem gone.. :)
