Right folks

Am laying up my Zed until next summer since ive now moved to penistone which sees a high proportion of snow and ice. Im going to use the wife's car and i was thinking of getting her a cheap yet groovy used car - she's upgrading from a panda so should be happy with most things.

four requirements:

1) gotta be cool

2) Preferably Jap / German emginering

3) HAS to be 4wheel drive

4) max budget £3000

Any ideas?

Was thinking of a circa 2001 TT coupe but they are the second most unreliable cars on the road!

Let me know if you think of any others im checking auto trader now!

Going on the fact you want German or jap and if you want fast or luxury because you can get 90's audis dirty cheap or if you want 4wd the likes of the Subaru legacy

Yup, that's what I'd have :)

I say Stagea, love those!!

Mitsubishi Legnum/Galant and Subaru Legacy are pretty cool too, don't know much about reliability though.

Not much choice with German 4wd, suppose it would be an Audi of some sort

Celica GT4 is a good choice - or any Audi A3 or A4 Quattro; they did the 4x4 with a few engine choices in the range I believe......

.....or one of these...? http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/606198994/volkswagen-golf-hatchback.html

If you can meet the fuel bills:wink:

Richard:flowers:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

If ya want fast and comfy, audi s4 b5 avant, or as richardsmith said, any audi a4 or a6 quattro

The legacy B4 twin turbo are great cars, try for the manual though,

or Galant/Legnum VR4?

Back from hols - thanks for all the brillinat replies!

Ive got some googling to do on all of those suggestions...

True but he's laying his zed up for a bit, so fuel costs balance out

But i do agree, very cool motor, I was lucky and drove round a 110 defender for work and it was loud, cramped and old fashioned but very cool!
