Car insurance - anyone else noticed it has gone down again....?

As title - is it me, or does it seem that car insurance prices have got a bit more sensible again this year...?

Mine (2009 Merc SLK 350 daily driver) and Julia's (2006 Rav-4 XTR) insurance are up for renewal in a couple of weeks and I have been quoted the very reasonable premiums of £253 and £191 respectively!! That's both with Admiral - FC with protected NCB, courtesy car and legal cover included, plus reasonable excesses too!! Result...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

yeah i have noticed my quote has went down £200, to a nice price of £158 and thats for Audi A6 2.4v6 quattro S,line,

Yup I'm also with admiral and my zed is the same as my Octavia was. I pay £1000 a year at the moment. 0years no claims and I'm 21. Next year I'm looking at half that

Well I called Admiral today - and it just got better!!

The chap on the phone added the policies together into their multi car deal, and those prices came down a little bit..... Then I mentioned my ZX insurance was coming up for renewal in a few weeks, thinking there was not much he could do on that. But I was wrong!!

Adding a third car brought the premiums down further - Merc just £225, Rav £155 and then £215 for the ZX (with mods declared of course); so all 3 cars covered for £595:hyper:

I realise I could possibly have got the ZX covered for a little less (but not much - it was £254 last year), but I saved £64 on the two main cars by adding the Z to the policy!!

Result!!

admiral have a funny way for getting their prices, obviously location is factor but it shouldn't effect the entire people of that area. A3 sport back from 1200 to 600. not bad and when i tried to cover the zx it was another grand on its own and combined it was another 900 wtf!! got separate quote for the zx 177 fc with 300 excess or 200 no excess fc . most companies dont even conisder it to be a classic!

That's crazy. I've never dealt with them. I use roadside with State Farm and the one time I used it (recently) it was excellent. They came long before they even said they would come and they answered right away.

Thanks,

Tim @ Accident Claims

Crazy is right Tim but I think you are a spammer lol can You remove your link and tell us about your zed or we will have to remove you.

Mine went up but as soon as I threaten to leave and go to a different insurer, they suddenly 'SPEAK TO THEIR SUPERVISOR AND CAN MATCH THE BEST QUOTE' :cursing: :cursing:

My ALPINA has gone down from £450 to £180, same cover

My renewal quote today for the SMax from current insurer was 150% increase. And they can't explain to me why.

So it's bye bye to them.

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

Just as a wee update, renewal came in from M.C.E. at £656 !!

Made a few phone calls this afternoon, Graham Sykes Specialist Insurance, £293 !! Protected NCB, Breakdown, Glass and Legal !!

Even tho its a Hemi Ram, and its my daily, whatever the weather, £656 was a bit excessive ??
