Big joint Southern, Western and Welsh meet at Haynes Motor Museum - 1st September

Haynes Motor Museum is an awesome place. We had a Z meet there about 6 or 7 years ago and people came from Wales, Devon, Cornwall, the south coast. I think it's high time another large gathering was organised for those that either don't want to make the drive up to northern wherever to where most of the large shows are.

There are some awesome cars here and it really is a great day out and not expensive. If anyone isn't aware of this place, then I'd be surprised. It's owned by John Haynes who started the Haynes Manuals and is one of the largest car collections in the UK. Entrance is only a tenner, so it isn't going to break anyone's bank. There are cars from all walks of life from classics to super cars, even a few chavy modified things that they built with Lax Power, so if you're into your filler and fibreglass, you can get your fix here too! :)

Sunday September 1st is actually the 'rare breeds event' and it certainly would be good to bring some Z32s to the mix and maybe of the 350z club or Zclub want to join in, that would be awesome.

Si, just spotted this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-23666551 and noticed

Deputy curator Matt Piper said: "It's the most extensive building work that we've ever done to the museum. It's a huge piece of work. "We expect the redevelopment to be finished either in the latter part of 2013 or early 2014, with a view to having an opening in June 2014."

Maybe they'd be up for a 300ZX 25th anniversary do to help the PR exposure both ways - perhaps have a word when you're down there?

Cheers

Yeah that sounds good. They do have a Z car presence there, albeit a small one. They have a 240z and I think a 350.

Count me in. (not in my Z though)

FYI - They are currently having quite a lot of building work done, which means there is a chance 1 or more halls may be shut, However, I took another group there a couple of months ago and they had moved most cars from closed halls into other halls and allowed us entry into the closed halls with a guide.

BTW - if the group is large enough they offer a guided tour option also.

Jimmer says he'll try and come if he can. I think he only gets back from his holiday the previous day.

C'mon guys, anymore? There are LOADS of people in the South Central region especially..... lil Stevie, IanL, ...c'mon! Thought you guys might be all interested in a southern gathering. It's like trying to pull hen's teeth! 2 weeks today!

I'm going off roading that day, unless the land rover is still broken, in which case i would be up for it, unless the zeds are both broken

What I suggest is we meet at Podimore services on the A303 and drive down in convoy. Anyone that'll be coming down the M5, we can maybe meet in Glastonbury (just checking on my parents' house whilst they're overseas). Obviously I aim to be in the Z, but should we have weather like last summer I will be in my Jetta (current shape).

Suggest a meet up time of about 9.30 and aim to leave by 10. Sparkford (where the museum is) is only 15 minutes from here. I will need to leave by mid afternoon as I need to get to Portsmouth to catch a ferry, but imagine we'll be kinda heading back about that time.
