sorry in advance but im well chuffed for myself and had to share, as some know ive been doing a lot of running and HII training, well the other week i ran my first 9k in just under and hour and last week i did my first sunderland park run its a 5k fun run and managed a time of 28:54 which was not bad for a beginner and i came 84th out of 120 people

but today i did it again and managed a time of 25:51 and came 69th out of about 120 people

might be slow to some but in feb when i bought my first pair of running shoes i couldnt manage 200 yards without stopping so to say im chuffed is an under statement

got a 13k run to accomplish on monday but i think im working so may miss it, will be another milestone if i do it though

never thought i could enjoy running as much as i did when i was a kid

chuffed

Well done mate...my missus is a 5K nut and has medals all around the house. Just to give you an idea she has massive tits (LOL) and her avarage is 22-23 for the 5 and 62-63 for the 10K. She wants me to start but i need deep pockets in my shorts for my smokes and zippo lighter:D

Well done Al. Seems like you've got the exercise bug. Can only be a good thing IMO.

Nice going Allan - hell, I don't reckon I could do that, so before anyone comments about it being easy, could they do it in that themselves...??

Keep it up mate, you're doing great!!

Richard:thumbup:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

thnks gary, im loving it, feel great and lost two stone since chrimbo lol

Its a great feeling running as I used to do a lot of it but I broke my ankle years ago and left me with limited movement in it plus a lot of pain so that was the end of my running.

I used to run a lot myself 30 years ago mostly from the police:blushing:

another pb on saturday, knocked another minute off down to 24:51, well chuffed, still room for improvment

Well done mate, wish I could be bothered to start running / exercising, keep telling myself I'll join the gym but as of yet it still hasn't happened.

Anyway, as I said... Well done and keep it up mate.

thanks mate, just give it a try, it becomes very addictive, run to a point one day then try and beat it the next, you will be running miles before you know it, but really get measured up for the right footwear if you start running, they make all the difference

I would love to start but finding the time is another matter.

As far as footwear is concerned, I'm a size 13 and finding any trainers full stop is an absolute nightmare

thanks mondo, as for finding the time, its the excuse i used for years, i can run 2 miles in about 18 mins now comfortably, about the time we have both sat here typing away on the internet lol

Good point mate, may have to stop making excuses soon :) especially as my belly is just getting bigger and bigger since I stopped doing long days of manual work.

my goal was to break 24 mins and i thought that was way off, im now thinking of breaking 23 mins and getting into the 22's?
