At first I smelt coolant while driving my Z ( 94' 300zx TT ) went home and checked radiator for loss of coolant but it was full. went out an hour later and noticed that when I took off in first gear some kind of liquid was pouring into passenger side onto mat, it smelt exactly like coolant. went home again and saw that it was coming from this plastic container located at passenger side just above the floor. The liquid is slippery and doesn't really have a smell is a goldish colour more like water. noticed a bit on driver side aswell. but the weird thing it only pors out when I first start driving from a halt usually after I turn the car off for a while.

The liquid in radiator is fine! What could it be! has it ever happened to you guys!

Please help I really upset about this

Thank you for your help in advance

I think it is your radiator matrix :( its a bitch of a job to do and costly, I don't know if you can bypass it,

what do you mean, what is it for ( radiator matrix ) ?

How can it be fixed? Do you have a diagram or pic?

Thanks for your help

Definatley your heater matrix dude! as my own is knackered!

it can be easily bypassed for the time being.

See my own post titled HEATER MATRIX on this section for everything you need to know!

I'm confused is it the radiator or heater matrix and what are they for?

its the heater matrix that is f**ked. Without it you will have no heating in your car! (Brrr-mine is broken!)

the coolant travels round the radiator then into the matrix -then leaking out onto your floor!

But I should be loosing coolant right.

How come I'm not loosing coolant from radiator?

How does this problem occour, do you need any parts to fix it, and how do you fix it?

Thanks

You need a new matrix (not sure exactly how much but think I remember it being about £300?)

Then you need to remove most of the dash which takes a day or two in labour! £1000? $£$£$£$£

Not good :(

You will notice your coolant level lower in a while -you can be sure of that!

Think its more like £150 for the actual matrix -its the labour which is alot! Sylvia Engineering charge £400 +vat as it takes them 8 hours.

As I said, check out my own post for ALL u need to know!!

Labour is not a problem as I live in North Cyprus

It would cost me about £5 an hour the problem is I need a diagram or pic showing me where the part is located and the part number of the part I need?

Thanks for all your help

dude- EVERYTHING you need is posted on "HEATER MATRIX" by me, james300 !!!!!!!!!!!!! especially the link to 300zx.org! that has pics etc.

not sure about the first gear thing, but make sure your air con drain pipe is connected and going outside the car. Mine leaked (only on the passanger side) and I thought the worst - check the air con pipe first.
