ill wait until the price drops abit they always give you better deals near Christmas or just after and ill see what games are looking like on it

PS4 for out and out gaming, Xbox One if you want an all in one media box....XBOX may rue the day they tried to provide an all singing all dancing box, they want their own TV channel and have linked up with a number of US sports organisations NFL etc. which is only relevant to the North American market...to much interactive use for my taste.

Prefer the Xbox 360 to the PS3 with the Live service being very good, have no intention of upgrading to either new console for the forseeable future.

Ps4 for me its more of a games console, Xbox said they were going to be more of a multimedia, I just want to play games tbh

There £350 which is cheap but the games are £60 at launch ouch!

I'm waiting for a while, there are still games on the ps3 and 360 that I am yet to play. Also gta5 I don't think will be on the next consoles not sure about gt6??

I had both the 360 and ps3 liked them both but all my mates have a ps3 so I sold the 360. they are all getting the ps4 aswell that's one of the main reasons im going with it

I'm a big Xbox 360 fan but I will deffo be going ps4 this year, just hate the control pads the play station uses, but the console looks loads better gaming wise this time around

Well you have to much money then :tt2:

Pc's are for eBay, forums and porn and that's it

I also read that the new consoles will be so power full they will be de tuning games to work on the PC ?.

I don't have any mates lol

Haha my thoughts exactly!!

You obviously know nothing about pcs then, far as I believe they will always be one step ahead of the console market,

As its pc systems that the games are designed on in the first place also the tech for pcs is way more advanced too.

That's what I thought. I think it was infinity ward that said it, it was one of the big game developers and they said they have never had so much power before, with new lighhtng systems and how things react with the environment has never been seen before and we have new exciting time ahead??

Its that or you have to spend 2k on a PC to match thhe graphics of the new consoles so it more available at home?

lol, posted that on my ipad and couldn't get smiley's to work so sounded more serious than intended !:cool2:

Not been into gaming much lately and my home rig is more a development and design platform than a gamer system.

We do have some exciting times ahead and believe it or not a lot of the ideas coming out are coming from people like us,

as a lot of the developers are moving to open source technologies and 1000's of independent low cost developers work

better than a 100 highly paid ones do.

And the advancements in xbox Kinect recently are also due to open source as when Kinect was first released Microsoft

released the source code and allowed developers direct access to come up with new ideas of how to use the technology.

I'll stick to the PC. These next gen consoles are already a couple of years behind and will just continue to get left further behind.

They will certainly open up some new and interesting game development for consoles users, the current consoles have been holding up a lot of PC game development for a while now. PC gaming will continue to be for serious gamers.

Agreed mate :thumbup1:

I do like a PC for gaming but you can't beat a console for proper gaming. I can't imagine myself ever getting four of my mates in front of a PC to play FIFA and the best game out this generation was a PS3 game...case rests.

You mean casual/party gaming.

The PC's speciality is for more serious gaming. Where its more of a Hobby (or even a Profession), rather than something to just past the time when bored or for fun when mates are round.

I do realise the contradiction in combing the words "serious" and "gaming" though, and I'm generalising a little, since you do get some crossover of games.

Ps4 for me, not been on the ps3 for ages, battlefield 3 was shite on ps3 so got a half decent pc rig and play at 1080p on ultra settings around 65fps only going down to 40 minimum And it never cost me 2K ;)

The only games I play on PC are Torchlight 1+2, Football Manager and Starcraft 2. All the others are better and more enjoyable on a console irrelevant of the graphical differences in my opinion. Plus graphics wise a game can't get much more beautiful than the best game of this generation 'The Last of Us' on PS3. What an experience that game is.

Plus the new Grand Theft Auto will be optimised for consoles and run like a turn on PC like the last one did regardless of how much you have spent on a rig so if you really want to play the best games I fear consoles are still the way forward....and much cheaper initial outlay. Plus if you wait a few months the games go the same price or even cheaper than their PC versions so that argument is laid to rest too.

I take it you haven't seen DX11 games in action then? The PS3 and xbox just are not capable of producing such graphics. It's a bit like trying to say that the cbm64 has better graphics than the amiga! I've had a look at the PS3 game you mention and to be honest the original Crysis running dx10 has better graphics with much better dynamic lighting and more enemies on screen at one time and that game is three generations old on the PC. Unfortunately Crysis 2 and 3 were console ports and consequently very shallow quick play shooters..

Also, PC games get cheaper too.

You are right about a lot of games being optimized for console and being buggy on PC, however this is mainly to do with developers being lazy and doing crap ports to PC. The plain fact is that the PC is the best all round machine on the planet and it can do anything a console can, even emulate said console and play it's games..;)
