Got home tonight to realise the break lights wouldn't switch off. way to dark to be pissing about, couldn't find the fuse so thought it would be easier to pull the bulbs out, burnt my thumb in the process :cursing: and then forgot about the middle one (I forget it's there because you can't see it) couldn't be bothered digging a screw driver out so I just disconnected the battery in the end.

Any ideas what it could be? I'm guessing either the switch on the pedal, or a stuck relay. found what looked like the remains of a green fruit polo in the footwell if that sheds any light.

Fuse is the front yellow one on the right hand side of the main fusebox on the passenger side wing

Could the rest of the pack of polo's be stuck behind he pedal holding it down?

My mum had a similar problem involving a meat and potato pie..... will tell the whole story of anyone wants to hear it

Rich

it wont be a fuse more lightly an earth somewere , a dodgy conection, or just be a fruit pastle. if it is a fruit pastle dont forget to chew.

Haha ha. Start with the switch then work it back, to the relay if needed then worry about wiring later. It's likely the switch has got hammed up behind the peddle and failed in the on position.

Yeah that's what I thought, not looking foreword to splitting that apart though. I can't find the relay location though to check that. haven't got time look at it tonight so i'll do it tomorrow. I hope its a quick fix though

I don't get it

is there not switch on the brake pedal?? this activates when the pedal is pressed in and closes the circuit.

Yeah that's what I meant by 'the switch on the pedal' I found that on the manual from the android app that si posted earlier, but I was struggling to find an actual circuit diagram for the lights, so I don't even know if they're ran through a relay, i'd assume they are just because of the reasonable amount of current drawn by the 6 or so lamps.

on a serirous note there is a relay thing in the back next to the lights, its a large blake like relay box about the size off a packet of cards that sits next to the rear off side brake lights.

I've solved it, turns out the fruit polo had more to do with it than was thought.

It would appear (although I could be wrong) that this little thing when It was whole, fixed on the bracket on the break pedal and poked through a whole to push the switch in (N/C contact) for the lights, however as mine broke the switch was extended (closed) all the time leaving the lights on.

I'm not proud of it, but I have bodged it, using a small headed screw I had lying around I've managed to get it through the hole on the bracket, secured of course. and it now appears to work. I could of done a better job but it's a god awful position to be in, and to have to keep pushing the pedal made it awkward and I wasn't prepared to take it off.

Here's a photo of the back end of the switch to try and give an idea.
