Fitted new coil packs and spotted something lurking...

I fitted the front four of my white sprayed coil packs with powder coated brackets

I like the way they look (nothing wrong with lots of chrome but I fancied something a bit different)

Anyway while doing so i managed to drop one of the little cloloured washer thingsdown between the cables near the nearside intercooler pipes

While looking down there to see where it had gone I spotted a very worn looking rubber pipe about an inch across. It is in a terrible state, all cracked on the surface and badly perished. The condition does not show up well on the attached pic - but what is this hose? Its running from the front of the car and down besides the CAS unit

I don't like the look of it at all if iit is doing something important!! In fact it looks like somethign bad waiting to happen.... :sweatdrop:

Aircon pipe going to/from the compressor I reckon mate

that pipe is for the aircon ... Main pump pipe it has an outer rubber plastic protector on it .. with the age of the car chance is it will be slightly worn and cracked ... but its only the protector covering

Yes it is very cracked and worn - now I know what it is it ain't so bad, but should it be changed - seeing as the aircon is pretty useful in this warm humid weather?

Other than that and on a lighter note - anyone like the white coil packs against the red?
