Hi all,

Ive been driving the car around the yard on a fresh rebuild and ive noticed that there is alot of pressure built up in the fuel tank. I dont remember this to be a problem 6 years ago when I was driving it last lol. Im wondering if its anything to do with the uprated fuel pump or if this is a result of the carbon canister removal all done after I took the car off the road.

Any ideas?

Cheers Dan

I don't know why, but I always thought that the filler cap was supposed to vent the pressure.

Each time I go to fill mine she hisses like a cornered cat when I release the cap!

Not sure if thats correct or not to be honest.

Its normal for a closed loop fuel system.

The volume inside the tank is actually low pressure and its the air rushing into the tank from outside when you open the cap to equalise the pressure that you hear.

I just thought it was the sound of my car desperately trying to suck fuel out of the pump nozzle ;)
