The hide of a freshly skinned South African is excellent for polishing alloy.

Sorry, saw Red Dragon last night and it's still in my system.

Most users of Autoglym products seem to swear by them and I've always found them to be excellent.

An idea which I had for the black bits, but never got round to trying, was boot polish. I used this on the black vinyl roof of my Mk1 Capri and it worked brilliantly.

You should have taken your car to SE ...

LMAO stop taking the piss lol

The only thing i can now say is this company has now taken over the mantle from SE regarding time frames.

i suppose HARRYS is the best place?

for autoglym?

There are tons of ally polishes around. One of my favourites from bike cleaning days was Belgom because not only did it clean nicely, but it left a kind of seal behind it which stopped it from going white and furry so quickly. You can also get tubes of stuff called urm .... something like Solvite but that's wallpaper paste ... erm ..... nope, AutoSol - that's the stuff ! A little abrasive but works great. For wheels there is WonderWheels but it contains phosphoric acid (I think) which strips all the lacquer and so you always have to give them a good coat of wax afterwards.

For those black strips arpund the windows which seem to go kakky on so many cars you can use vinyl roof black. I presume it's still available, they're not exactly in fashion these days but I have a tin that's about 15 years old. Presume boot polish is pretty similar though....

Just found this ... http://www.eagleday.com/belgom.html

Probably a UK equiv. somewhere.

Harry's probably not the cheapest but they do stock it - I got most of mine from the Harry's near you. They used to do some packs of a few different autoglym products that worked out quite reasonable value.

autoglym super reson is indeed good stuff. Id like to know whats good for the rubber/plastic trim though, some bits are a bit beyond repair though, near the top of the windscreen the trim has gone right back to the metal :(

T roof seals are leaking big time too, came home today after some heavy rain and the inside of every window was steamed up, last time the back floor mat behind the driver seat was soaking wet, so i guess ill have to fix that too.

I'll have any spare 17 year olds if you have 'em - a bit more experience LOL

For the black trim bits on your Z you can't beat Autoglym Bumper Care - it's the biz.

clarkey bringing the groupies then for the next meet????

The only drawback lads is they all have a six inch clitoris!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL

The question is......

Can they or do they clean cars when you squirm them around all over the bodywork :S
