Can anyone give me any info on where to get paint from, i am after Pearl White the code on car is QN0 i had some made but it has come out more silver (platinum white) i can seem to get any to match.

i only want to do some touching up and even if it is not an exact match but whiter than the paint i have it will cut in.

any help greatly appreciated

How much did you have mixed up? Whites and pearls in particular, the weighta are really sensitive to blending. If you're ordering half litres, your problem probably lies there. I'd order a minimum of 1 litre of base coat and 1 litre of pearl. You'll find the match is better.

 

QNO under artificial light can look silvery-white. What panel did you paint?

 

In terms of decent paint suppliers, try Brown Brothers, they're the official UK distributor of PPG paints.

Agreed Si.

In my experience not all suppliers will tell you that you need a base/ground coat and this needs to be the correct shade of white. They will just sell the pearl coat.

Also the viscosity and number of pearl coats you lay down alters the final result.

Remember too that nearly all pearls give a diferent result on metal or non metal panels. Even experienced sprayers struggle with that.
