ok car has been good s far just to nite went for a blast going pretty fast when i came back home the car was ticking over a 1000rpm its been a thats the first time it done that it was ticking over well below that is any idea were to look is there a idle control valve ? or anyother ideas were to look thnak for any help

check the water temp sensor connector is on tight and not dirty on terminals on front water pipe (the bigger of the 2) .Before you go messing with idle screw theres a few things to check 1st or you will be a dog chasing its own tail;)

just left the car with the bonnet open to cool a bit just started it up went to about 1100rpm on start up then went back down to about 750 to 800 rpm ? were are the plugs am looking for i dont know this engine atall

ok i found the idle control unit and found 2 plung on the red pipe on black and on bigger one yellow when i unpluged the the yellow one the electric fan kicked in when i pluged it back in the fan went of . its seen to be idleling ok at 800rpm is tht about rite. amd znunts yes that would be great yes when you free

You guys should definitely video documents your "good and bad" 300zx demonstration, would love to listen in! :p mine is also idling a bit high so will be following similar steps!

mine was idling ok once i let it cool down it happend to me after i was stonking to car on some private land i was doing about 140mph ish and when i pulled over it was idling high but turned it off for a while and when i started it back up the idle went down again will drive it tody and see
