na but really if u wanted to

yeah Co Driver would be good ... Long Journey and very boring to do by ones self[/QUOTE]

is cos you in a van and not Z :)

Some petrol stations are not manned in the evening or at weekends. And lots are pay at pump only. So you may need a credit card or debit card that is accepted in europe .

You put your card in, select which pump and how much you want to spend, then fill up at the pump

Motorway services will probably be okay for euros

I lived in Germany for over 3 years mate, you will need the following by law.

Hi viz jackets

Warning triangle

First aid kit

Fire extinguisher

Bulbs

All vehicle documents including your green card (insurance)

Cash (plod do on the spot fines)

In reality I never carried any of it as I hate things being in the car that ain't where they're supposed to be and I never got pulled, when I crashed the 350Z they didn't check if I had any of it so it's up to you if you take it. If you don't and get caught its £40 per item missing as a on the spot fine.

Opportunity missed...go Via the Nordschleife and you can do a Sabina Schmidt fast van lap....seems a shame not to!

You will almost certainly need absolutely nothing, as nobody ever checks, and even living here, most people are missing some (if not all) items.

In my UK zed I carry a fire extinguisher only, and thats not just because its the law, but because a hot v6 and some ancient wiring looms dont really mix!

Top tip that you didnt hear from me:

- the on-the-spot fine for not having them, will be less than the cost of buying the items.

NB just make sure you have to hand

a) your insurance documents, and licence

b) your ferry ticket

Mark, I recently drove a van from UK to Berlin & back, and also UK to Milan and back going through the Monte Blanc tunnel. If you go via France the roads are free from big lorries on the weekend as they are not allowed to drive (you'll see them all parked up.) Nice clear driving at 82mph speed limit! From Mb to Calais the tolls came to €56 so maybe you might pay around €30 goign via Riems then Basel according to Google maps.

Passing through belgium the roads were much busier, and my speed was around 65mph most of the way.

Hi Viz jacket too mate; plus your reg documents and both paper/photocard driving licence bits....

And make sure your breakdown recovery service and insurance covers you in Europe, oh, and take those documents as well.

Yesa and the high viz must be in the car/van not in the boot
