was it a private motorway ? :)

Check the log book and see if Q was a previous keeper, it may have been fitted with and anti camera device thats triggered when you get a bit naughty with the loud peddle

ok ok jokes aside now

you have to remember its a use car thats around 20 years old ... things can go wrong .. what u need to do is check the engine bay for Oil around and try and identify where its coming from but it does sound like it could be power steering related

Not got the log book yet mate as only just got the car. Do you think the turbo has gone

the powered steering goes all along the drivers side, if it pops on a hot engine it will steam/smoke. Also do you know when the last time the car was actually driven driven, it might just be crap blowing out and the hicas/ps issue is separate. check that fluid level first bud, it fixes lots f hicas issues.

Ok thank you. Just don't get why soon as I go100 plus it drops down and smokes really bad :( could it be a turbo

  • Author

Yh but wouldn't it be both revs and speed as it drops down and picks up speed. Sorry if I sound a dumb ass

ok the pump works off the engine pulley system ... so if u happen to drop a gear this would of made the pump work a little harder and put more pressure on the oil lines to the point if one was a little weak it would of popped ... Hence sending oil on the engine or exhaust system making smoke ..

Haha I no mate not that dumb lol. But that's wot I mean could it be under to much pressure or something. The guy did say one dump value was not working very well could it be that

Got told its a faint blue as my cuzin was behind me, he thinks it could be turbo but we don't don't no.

Take a drive to jeff and mark at zedworld this weekend they will be able to check the car properly,

The above is good advice, if its history is unknown it really could do with a quick health check. To put your mind at rest turbo failure either gives you dark blue smoke on boost or white vapour like smoke at warm idle, potentially on the over run too. If it was an isolated one off bluesy black sotty burst I wouldn't worry too much.

Just a thought, dont know about the smoke but if its an import could the speed limiter still be in place? 112mph iirc

20 old car + unknown history + first drive + over 100mph + one dump valve not working = BANG lol

A lesson to all new buyers, get it checked out before you start tearing the arse off it.

hence why I always tow new cars back if I can then drive them to a specialist. Luckly my new zed has had a good life so no worries apart from a small issue ;-)
