Hi Chaps,

Hope everone's well, here's a question for you.

Every time I drive up a hill the steering goes heavy. It only happens on hills.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so to you know what the problem is.

The power steering fluid is full and the steering has been checked out by Darren and all read outs show OK on the CONSUL test.

Like I said the steering behaves itself under most conditions but doesn't like steep hills. This is not weather related as it does it rain or shine just hill related. I think...??

Appreciate any info.

Thanks in advance.

just check the usuall things It would point to a imperfect connection or hose problem.

Check

Power Steering Pump Driver Side Most Accesory at front of the engine.

Powersteering pump connections feed and return hoses.

Tension of drive belt on pulley.

Deflection of drive belt on pulley.

Also check the Speed Sensor on the gearbox and keep and eye on the speedo when you go up / down said hills

hope that helps

If the power steering loss coincides with the speedo dropping to Zero when you are moving it is likely to bee the speed sensor on the gearbox. It's relatively cheap and is located on the drivers side of the gearbox and is accessible from the bottom. Mine went!
