My Map Session with Noz and the Importance of Having One.

When I bought the car the upgrades I had were Alunox exhaust, profec boost controller and an induction kit. With these few little performance add-ons my car was dyno'd and roughly it was at 340bhp and here is that print out given to me as part of the service record.

After the Trentham Garden meet on the Sunday I traveled to my good friends workshop in Shrewsbury Lee Dent. Lee did my engine upgrades last summer, engine out keeping stock internals and we/he fit bigger SMIC's, T28 Turbos, Stage 3 clutch with lightened flywheel, 600cc injectors, 56mm core rad, stainless manifolds, heat range 8 plugs and some other bits not really performance related.

Getting late on the Sunday but Lee attended to some very minor issues I had and gave it a clean bill of health ready for Noz the next day.

So seeing as it is compulsory to have a little guessing game when one goes to Noz, I thought I would just see what people think the figure is now at the engine and what I have improved it to ?????

I do have a Noz print out and some vids of a few runs and I'll keep uploading these occasionally :thumbup1:.

Well having just slapped an off the shelf chip and you could see the results of this on the youtube vid in the lead post, it just goes to show that you need someone like Noz to map a car properly, he also set up my EBC, so thank you sir for your efforts on the day, the car is certainly much more responsive as you'd expect.

So here is the dyno print off he gave me, this was run 14 it seems .

We have therefore 579.9HP at the engine and 504.2HP at the wheels - not bad at all and I'm delighted as I thought I'd be in the mid 400's somewhere, I've practically doubled the power from out of the factory .

And this is video of that run or one with Noz's map in it anyway so could not of been the final one but if not very near to it :thumbup1:.

FYI the 'flue pipe' was just to try and guide the fumes out of the loading bay.

Fantastic result matey!!!!!!

I'm now looking forward to my visit :)

Alz.

I have been waiting nearly a year for the day I could rolling road my car as it would tell me what these tubs were or are like, I think reports and general opinion are that they are pants, 'they must be because they are not 2k' :tt2:.

This is the reason I haven't been shouting from the rooftops over them, and even a reluctance in this very thread in fear of being slated but I love them and what can speak cannot lie.

Results will be revealed a little later but it seems some of you now are barking up the right tree .

Don't get me wrong im not slating, ive heard people that have done good with them, the thing is bad news travels fast....if you've had them a year and they are behaving, few track days aswel hasn't there been? then its sounding positive.

Great result there mate:drool:you must be pleased with that, now I'm excited having my car transported down to Noel's in the morning so he can work his magic on mine:)

Thats what i was wondering....

was there in the first run too once you got passed the overfuelling, I'd say the turbo seals are gone personally

The smoke you see is the turbo seals being sucked on due to the cross pipe and zero restriction in the exhaust hence only smoking on very high rpm and overrun. When you shut off the throttle at high rpm and pressure is then dumped in the exhaust you get a sudden shot of vacuum which also creates a pull on the exhausts seals.....some people have found keeping catalytic converters helps as it creates a little back pressure in the exhaust :thumbup1:.

yeah, I know :) still shouldn't smoke though! Anyhow, as long as your happy with it all that's the main thing, the power is very good and spool is pretty decent too.

Nice result, was the fire extinguisher just there to stop the pipe rolling away, or were you worried about the flames, lol.

Yep, had them in for over a year now and when you consider I enjoy the boost very much every time I go out then I'd say 'come on in the waters lovely' but people wont and that's fine with me !!

Not had a track day with them as yet, not sure I even want to thrash my car around a track, my last track day was with the stock ones and a slipping clutch, so hence before the engine mods, one final hurrah you could say .

Both of the above I suppose , but yes it did keep rolling off to the side .

fantastic result mate. list of mods please? :)

There is a great long list of mods in 'My Profile' or 'Garage', but if you read post 1 it does state the more relevant upgrades :thumbup1:.
