Hi people,

My power steering is very intermittent lately along with my speedo. If I loose my power steering, I also loose my speedo reading. Are these 2 related in any way?? I was guessing the pump is starting to fail, but it seems strange that the speedo reading goes at the same time??

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Alz.

EDIT: After searching, it looks like the speed sensor behind the clocks....... Time to remove and look.

Yep, it is usually the speed sensor on the gearbox buddy. Have the same problem myself at the moment, although my speedo isn't working at all.

I thought it was the one behind the clocks...... I could be wrong tho :blushing:

The one behind the clocks is a converter to convert the clocks to MPH and miles instead of Kilometers. If the power steering is being affected it is usually the speed sensor on the gearbox bud. I could be wrong as well though.....lmao.

I thought that when the steering and the clocks both stopped that it was down to the convertor behind the clocks. as stated by everyone else though, don't know how true that is.

Probably the speed sensor. Changed my clocks and still had the same problem so getting the sensor changed soon.

Are you changing the gearbox speed sensor now?

UK spec cars can have this problem, and they don't have a converter behind the clocks.

Yeh I'll be changing it soon
