Hi guys,

 

Was originally looking for a Techno Violet car but this came up and was the spec (apart from colour) I Wanted, picked it up last week.

 

I've fitted a stubby aerial and the German style plates and surrounds, as well as giving it a decent clean.

 

Plans are to get it serviced (booked into Eden Motors Yeovil) and looking at getting some coilovers as I think she's sitting a little high. The mirrors will be replaced with some genuine M3 items.

 

Other things are just replacement of broken clips and trims etc.

Very nice e36 covertible Rob and being 1999 it is one of the last batch made. I have a 318i convertible in the garage and its been in there for a year now so must get it out.

Nice Gaz, how's your roof? Mine needs a little work. Tension straps need doing as the cover catches on the roof and the fabric round the rear window needs looking at, got any ideas of places to get bits as I'm finding that bimmerforums ain't all that.

Lovely looking car... Please put he standard mirrors on it though! As an M3 will pull up next to you one day!

 

I do like a clean e36... there is quite a bit of power to be found in that M52 2.5 motor, M50 manifold and throttle body plus one or two other bits should see it nearer 190bhp instead of 170.

I know what your saying about the mirrors but the standards are simply horrendous! Look like they were styled by the Volvo design team of the 1970's. I want to keep it all OEM parts too.

 

Been looking at the M50 manifold conversion, will do a large throttle body conversion with it and also looking at US spec M3 cams with M3 manifolds too.

 

Want to get it mechanically sound and looking right before power mods.

Mine was the same mate but if you stop the roof when the back hatch is open you can see two rods on the passengers side which can adjust how far the fabric roof pulls back.As for roof parts or repairsI would just Google it to see who is close to you.

Get the roof in this position and you will see the rods on the passenger side

 

These are the two rods you need to adjust mate so hope it works for you.
