E-mail probs help

Every time I double click my outlook express icon my monitor goes onto standby mode and goes blank. All I can do then is reboot my pc.

any idears before i format the HD and start again?

    Reinstall Outlook Express/Internet Explorer or upgrade to the latest versions if you are not already on them...?

    Check your anti-virus software(if you have any loaded). There are some versions of Norton that don't like OE. Alternatively scandisk your HDD (does not work if you are on NT, because Scandisk can't scan NTFS) and see if that brings up any errors. It could be that a segment of OE is loaded onto a bad cluster on your HDD.

    How much space / memory do you have left on your HDD?
