Looks like an STMicroelectronics OTP EPROM, ST27C256.

 

As for the map that's on it, most likely The Internet. Impossible to say without analysis, either by reading the contents directly or via the Consult port.

I am sure I only purchase my eproms from JD, AP and Zedworld in the past....... I thought it was from one of them?

I have now had the chip in my 300, drives fine and pulls very well.
