Should be straight bolt on as long as you get the elbows with it as in the picture, no good without them.

And I'm pretty sure 2fast2cool on ebay are supplying Japspeed ones, they just take the chance and start 99p auctions with them...and then end auction early if it doesn't reach the price they want.

looks like your aiv pipes are still on all conected these will need a bung in think its a arch linner off job cant really remember .I went for the na front pipes complete with the cherry bomb style silencers for a few reasons .1 didnt fancey snaping dump pipe studs and trying to drill bolts out for hours

2 thought the silencers would keep noise down after cats were removed

3 thought the extra back pressure of the silencers would hold the turbo seals better

I noticed that too, must be saving on adding a start price and a reserve. Should report them lol

thats the one on japspeed. looks the same.

taff, aiv pipes?

Air injection valves they will need plugging both sides it's an emission thing .

Just as a heads up, i bet the divorced downpipes are a pig to fit arent they? as you need to get the elbows off the turbos, so either way, you stand a good chance of sheering some bolts/studs during the process.

has anyone here fitted divorced pipes themselves with the turbos/engine still in the car? and how did you get to the bolts on the elbow?

Yes its a proper pain in the ass, Vodkashots had a thread up recently about the trouble he had. Mine was done in a garage and it took a couple of days as they waited for some heavy duty drill bits to arrive to be able to drill out the troublesome broken one. With the constant heating and cooling over the years they become very brittle.

Would that one fit?

Mine has stupid greddy turbos and the exhaust side is only 3 bolt (triangle) so I have to keep the elbows as all the downpipes I see have the usual 5 bolt pattern. Pita really.

bird - i would expect so, providing the elbows on the greddy turbo finish in the same place as the stock ones.

mistyblue - thought as much! I had enough fun with the 3 bolt decats on the standard elbows. lost 2 bolts on each side, 4 in total. ended up making a 15mm thick jig/template to drill them out with and to keep the drill straight.. plus some dodgy levering mechanism on the ground to keep enough pressure on the drill so I didnt blunt the HSS bits.

Sorry for the slight hijack, but I have recently fitted japspeed down pipes and have just left the AIV's in place.

Do I need to bung them up? What are the consequences of just leaving them unplugged?

Yes I have twice, its easy :D just a little fiddly. Worst bit it as you say getting the old elbows off without snapping anything..... shit loads of wd40 and an overnight soak is the way forward.

are theses an alternative to the japspeed ones? any gain or loss with keeping/removing the aiv pipes? and regards to emissions, when you remove the cats does it pass or do you need to have something else in place. i thought the Z's are considered a classic and don't need to have have emissions done which is why the cats are removed

you can unplug the control solenoid and just bung the pipe up ..

just remove them at a later date loose some weight :)
