My understanding is no.

Only conzult cable will work. Datascan will work with the eBay cables.

So is consult very different to conzult?

Consult is the official Nissan handheld thingy from the 90's, with Conzult being the PC version.

I think the free version of Conzult works with the eBay cables btw.

Imm guessing my data scan cable will work with the free version of conzult then.

 

Do you know what the differences are between the full and free versions of conzult

almost a world of difference...

 

amongst some of the things, the free version only has:

 

one readout for the O2.

limited views of information.

unable to save live data to log.

no analysis of the ecu map.

 

BUT so a not to rubbish it totally, it is useful and will help to rule out a load of issues and easy error code view.

The official full Conzult cable has an extra decoder box on the cable, hence why expensive.

Are there any alternatives to conzult that gives the same stuff? Like maybe the latest version of datascan as I'm usin version 1.3 or 1.4 - it's a really old version anyway lol

ECU TALK in Australia do a USB cable that seems to work with everything and has their own program with it mate. The guys on aus300zx.com love them

I got ECU talk to work fine with one of the ebay connectors...

 

and was looking at this one for an all in one USB solution.. but have no idea if it will work or how well..

Looks similar to the one I have and have had no problems with it using Datascan and Scantech. Its no a true USB it uses a serial to usb converter but works a treat.

 

Only thing is you have to make sure to tell the software which COMM port it is using

What's scan tech? Is it any good etc?

There is also a full version of Conzult which will work with 3rd party cables.

There are two full versions of Conzult, one which uses their own cable and the one above.

I didn't know that. And I'm guessing most others on here don't either or more would probably have gone for the download option and just made a cable

The download option is the free 'limited functionality" version not the one above which costs 139 EUR.

Nice one. So does anyone have that version? Seems stupid for them to have 2 options but I'm glad about that
