Do you get fibre to the home or are you still stuck using the old copper lines to the box?

Correct, the box is 100 meters away and I figure that's better than it travelling over a mile like I'm on now with sky.

What spec of wireless do you have? Don't mean the new BT hub..

'g' type wireless although stating up to 54Mbps pretty much max out around 20Mbps in reality. An 'n' type wireless will be much faster and closer to the speed of your hub.

Yep, that's the problem. Just get a usb n type and use that instead. You'll be able to get a quicker throughput on that.

Translation just for you; n go faster than g. lol
