Wondered what others are doing to refurbish the targatops?

Problems with mine are:

Glass is going milky around the edges in some places - not sure how to fix.

Little bit of corrosion on the metalwork - easily sortable.

Plastic end caps need replacing on the ends of the metalwork - easy.

Plastic trim around the three edges of the glass. Brand new replacement would be ideal - are these parts even available?

I'd happily replace the targa with a solid carbon fibre version if such an item existed :)

buy new glass..only way

that little bit may surprise you..if its about an inch from the ends its coming from the foam on the end seals and will more than likely be rusting elsewhere

agreed piece of piddle..practise inserting them though as the design means you only get one chance as there`s no room for error with regards the sticky mounting pads.

nope..would like that too.

If you do strip them don`t use foam to reseal..take note of all the areas foam is used and use sikalastomer 710 butyl based, very messy but means no water ingress and you can strip again if needed with a hair dryer. last thing ..seal EVERYTHING! screws, holes, gaps. Also good idea to treat the panel with hydrate 80 or similar stops any future rust issues.

I've got some spare targas in the garage without milky glass so that will be your only option. Want me to dig them out this week and get some pics?
