I disagree she lined the rich pockets and they paid here back by paying for her to live in the RITZ hotel in london for the last 8 years plus people should be allowed to view there thoughts

Please feel free to view your comments but dont be offensive please. I made a quick decision to remove it as I thought it was very offensive and stand by that.

this article was written by the mail that says alot to me

The spacious three-bedroom flat, in the fashionable Barbican centre, costs the NUM £34,000 a year in rent and bills thats less than a MP basic allowances

on average £500 a night 365x£500 =£182.500

iff i had the money i would of paid it for her myself...and anyway your forgeting room service and chow.

If you dont like a comment, ''ooh, lets delete it! Your a load of wusses, good job you where not fighting for this country, your worse than bloody Thatcher, at least she had balls!

It says a lot to me as well mate, but probably not the same as it does to you. It's an argument that has no end and I appreciate that but it goes a lot towards what she was like that people are still feeling so strongly.

Now listen here matey, i left your comment well alone, but it was indeed insulting, i don't like thatcher either, but im not going to insult her just because she has died.

Personally i thought it should stay, regardless how offensive it was, there are plenty of people who found her offensive. and i for one wanted this thread to be about the mixed opinions of everyone. not just one sided views on how great she was in some peoples eyes.

WHY? Cos i gave MY opinion? Geez, TBH, YOU lot are the reason the threads get deleted. My posts are only insulting to those that dont agree, thats what make comunication!

I was born in 84 so cant say that she was the best or not as i wasnt bothered but from what ive been told she wasnt all bad.

With the mines, the ncb were going to close all the mines anyway so going on strike wouldnt have stopped it.

Recession in the 80's so she sold the companies off to make money? If the miners didnt go on strike that would have saved a billion or two.

Poll tax (now council tax) didnt see labour getting rid.

And she was obviously doing something right, she was voted in 3 times!

Why was it ok to insult her before but now she is dead its disscracefull? It didn't stop jokes about Hitler lol

Believe me mate when she took power this country was on its knees due to union blackmailing and a goverment at the time that had no balls to stand up to them...3 day working week and power cuts most nights in the winter and you could,nt even buy a candle in the shops:huh:....i was born 1961 so ive seen and lived in this country before ,during and after Maggie.

Thanks for that. Now wind your neck in and listen. This is a RIP thread not a have a go thread. So tread very careful now as you have got very very lucky to escape a ban.

Warning given.

RIP Lady Thatcher - IMO she was one of the greatest Prime Ministers this country had. My personal opinion that is BTW - and I fully appreciate that this was always going to be a controversial subject. But the fact remains that whilst Lady Thatcher was unpopular in certain areas, she STILL won 3 general elections outright and was the longest serving PM of the 20th Century. That certainly counts for something - and goes to show that politics still divides the country.

And as for selling off our assets to foreign investors - that was not down to Lady T or her administration; back in her day, her government just privatised those state owned industries and British investors bought the shares. It was only in subsequent years - after Blair's government got in - that foreign investors bought up those companies. I know - I bought shares in the newly privatised companies back in the 1980s. Funny how some of those posting in this thread aren't actually old enough to have "been there" first hand, eh...?

But as said - personal opinion; we all have our own political views and should not seek to ram them down the throats of others.

Dead right Brian - and I for one am considering said person's future on this forum. It was a vile and uncalled for response only intended to inflame; and I can see no previous positive contribution to the forum from this individual. Like or Loath her, a former leader of the country has passed away and should not be subjected to such a vitriolic public outburst; followed by outright abuse towards the forum administrators for doing their job.

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

When I was young, my parents owned their house until it was compulsory purchased by the council. They were paid a pittance for it and the whole area was uprooted and put on a new council estate where I grew up. Labour wouldn't let us buy our house but when maggie got in we could. One good thing she did was let hard working families buy their home, especially if like us, you had lost a perfectly good house through no fault of your own!
