Its come to my attention over time thats parts for our cars are hard source and expensive. Availability of quality kit is poor from within the uk and oem parts are dropping off the availability list like flys. Being an entusiast club part of our responsibility is to ensure the marque is represented and preserved. A serious prerequiset to this is availability of parts. Most other cars have many pattern parts available, and aftermarket stuff, we simply dont. I do not wish to pick on anyone but compare our z part retailers to those in the us or oz, zcentre is tiny, its not even affilated with the owners club! Not to mrntion the price. Getting onto the twinz range, that cannot be sorted.

It's a sad state that the 3rd? Biggest ownership worldwide cannot produce a sustainable and progress range of parts, that we have to make international orders to a country on the otherside of the world to get things of decent quality, and price. I applaud companies like sfs for making good parts for us, but I think its high time we started brain storming a better way that the current reliance on the us.

So how do we move forward? How do we push the z32 out of this stagnent position of poor parts, high prices and poor availability. Theres enough.of us at the end of the day. How do we move the club away from the screen and into an owners club, are we the offical uk zxclub? Is there even one? I know this sounds like a rant but I want to still own my z in 20 years time

Its high time the z comunity raised its profile.

I've never had a problem with the service and comms from z1, fair enough lately it's been a bit shocking but once you've sorted how much you need to pay its normally all good. The problem I have is the shipping/import costs. A UK rep sounds good if it means a UK distributor? Being able to buy the gear from z1 without the horrendous costs to get it here would be excellent.

I've never purchased from them, the service wasn't my issue, more the fact that many of us are buying from them as its the best option for the aftermarket parts. z1 are a sponsor on here and I think it makes great sense for them to have a rep on here to help out offer us deals that may occur, etc. Hopefully it will see more group buys occurring and lowering postage cots to the individual. I now a few will add onto others orders in an attempt to keep down cost which relays on trust, good faith, im sure many of us wouldn't mind waiting a month for a few others to bulk out the order to get a much better transport cost for example. Anyways the message is they are up to something, watch this space.

I kind of hope its not one of the current traders. I have nothing against them but can see the prices being all iver the place - So I might still order direct from them lol. Guess ill wait and see but that's what I can imagine happening. If it gave me some money, and I knew what I was doing if love to sell parts

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

Nope, you wouldn't bird..... trust me.... I did it for years....lol

We got some very mentally challenged customers looking to completely rebuild engines, working on braking.... I wouldn't have trusted them to make a sandwich let alone rebuild brake callipers. etc......lol

They usually returned saying the parts were wrong or faulty.... Not that they had no idea how to fit them....lol

It then usually ended up with us fitting them for them......

I must admit I loved running my own parts shop...... Great fun.... shame about some of the customers though.....lol

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!
