Now I guess everyone that bought the racelogic traction control has it working I ws wondering what are your thoughts on it.

How exactly does it transform the handling of the car? does it take some of the fun out of driving around roundabouts in the wet?

anything weird happened? engines blown up at all?

I don't think ill be purchasing it, just interested in how it would feel,

I wouldn't drive a Zed without it fitted.

Having 'fishtailed' down several country lanes, prior to fitting, when I applied too much wellie, the TC is a godsend and the car is totally predictable in just about all road conditions. But, I think it was AndyP who said 'just remember, you can't defy the laws of physics', TC will help you but it won't stop a full blown slide.

What is very nice is being able to bury the throttle at the lights or round-a-bout and know that you're not going to rearrange the scenery.

IMHO 10/10

Tim

And just remember, you can turn it off for track day fun ;)

Completly transforms the way you drive it. The first day I had it, me and a friend spent 3hrs driving round roundabouts as fast as possible, couldn't stop laughing for days. Seriously it is the best mod you can buy.

i am seriously considering this now after a bit of tailslide at the weekend, its fun when you know whats happening but when its not intentional....................parp!!

how much is it & where can you get it????

I had problems with mine when I got it. It would activate cos it wouldnt get a signal from one of the wheels causing my car to virtually stop when it got to 2000rmp, not good when you are trying to pull out of a busy junction. :(

But RaceLogic and Andy where very helpful, and RaceLogic replaced my unit and it been workin ever since.

But now its working its great. I use it mostly with fast full offs, foot to the floor and slip the clutch up and you get the odd delightful pop as the TC stops the wheels from breaking traction.

In the wet I am glad I have it. It is a must for hard acceleration, like when you over take something. I also am glad when going round roundabouts. The road condition on roundabouts vairy very much. I lost a Seirra's back end on a roundabout luckly every one notice and dropped back. There was an accident there the day before and I must have hit some oil. I wasnt going fast either because there where cars going past me on the outside.

In the dry Im not so bothered about it. I only really used it with fast pull offs. But it is fun, and frightning to go round roundabouts with your foot all the way to the floor in 2nd gear and let the TC keep your speed right. You get a slight drift which again is fun. It also feel strange having your foot to the floor going round and the speed is not changing. But as soon as you start to straighten up, the power is smoothy added untill you have full throttle.

Some people say TC is a performance device, some say a safty device. TC does not make you go round corners faster. The car has always been able to corner at that speed just the TC works out when the safty level is and keeps it there.

I can never tell if its saved my life. I could go round a corner slip on a bit of oil the TC pops to catch the traction and I would hardly notice and I would drive on not knowing what has happened.

On the other hand, with out TC I could have gone round that same corner slipped on the oil, causing a wheel spin, and before I notice or have time to react I've hit a wall, treem oncoming traffic or even a child. You dont have to go fast to slip on the road.

I tested out my TC when I first got it on an empty works carpark which is covered in those little stones. I floored if from stop with the TC off and the wheels spun almost straight away and just got faster. I got to about 15mph.

I tried the same thing with the TC on, set to dry. Again, the wheels spun but the car was poping and I though it was crap, untill I looked and noticed the speed. 35mph. And it was in less time than the first attempt.

I dont think it has taken any of the fun out of driving. I have had the arse kick out at 15mph in Liverpool switch island in rush hour and that wasnt fun. I wish I had it then. Roundabouts are more fun. They are safer to go round, and if you want to drift, change the setting to 20% and you will get a perfect drift all the way round and maintain it and if you want turn it off.

Its all down to personal choice, like the whole manual/auto thing, (Now dont start that again;)) Some people dont like putting thier trust in electronics, even though we are trusting quite a few when we step into the car.

Tyres are the only part of the car that are in contact with the ground. They make us stop, the make us go and they make us turn. Having TC makes sure that we dont over step the mark with the go and turning, so it cant be bad at all. ;)

what sort of engine wear can it cause? it works by interupting injector signal doesnt it?

than normal . I love it, one of the best mods ive done, nothing better than hearing it cut in in third on a nice dry surface :D AND YOU LAUNCH DOWN THE ROAD LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW :D

It transforms the confidense you have in the car, when i got it i thaught id only use it in the wet blah blah, but i just leave it on all the time now lol.

Of course when your relying on it and you end up doing two full 360's   in the middles of the road exiting a roundabout, you take a long time to learn to trust it again lol.

As far as engine damage, there should not be any as it cuts the injector pulse (it does not cut it 100%)

so..........................................how much is it?????

From Race Logic about £1000 with the Lauch Control and adjustable slip.

But speak to Johnny at GPS, he can get a good deal for you. If you can get a few people to buy at once it would be better.

£350 - 600 depending on who sells it to you ect ect.

Warren show me where you can get it for £350?

I fitted the traction the day before wizzing round a circuit, never done it before. There were many faster cars than mine at the time and I got this... and it was mainly down to the TC...

Crikey... I was gonna make me own. But for that price why bother?! Where from?

Johnny at GPS - it's a steal if he can do you a group buy.

You wont regret it.

Mines being used all the time. When you turn and pull off causes the wheels to spin very easily but the TC pops and you dont notice any spin.

Stuart

on a wet tarmac the car shoots away from the lights as if it were dry, maybe 1 or 2 wheelrev's spin at the very most.

amazing.

didn't try pulling hard out of corners in the wet though, I'm still rather cautious with this automobile.
