Both Jaffa(James Morgan) and Bobgenie(Bob Dixon) are confirmed entries and both have working cars!!

I will be in the pits with Bob and we hope to get Jaffa pitted along side us. Bob has some support on the day from Eurospec and Jimmer (Power Zed) is assisting James.

Great stuff!

When I went to TA at Brands a few years back, they had an open pit lane at lunch time. If they still have the same deal, I'll pop down and say "Hi".

Cadwell Park is "Open Pits" so you and anyone else attending are welcome to pop in and say "hello":thumbup1:

Bob and me can be a bit grumpy on occasion:glare: especially when we get "joe public" asking silly questions or even worse ...trying to tell us what to do with the car and how their 1.4 fiesta turbo is faster:asshole:

300Zx.co.uk members all welcome tho:yes:

Check out Bobs "page" on Time Attack....http://www.timeattack.co.uk/index.php/teams-drivers/item/164-robert-dixon

That untidy back garden looks familiar.:innocent: LOL!!!!!

Is it just superficial damage or has the steering taken a whack?

lightweight, 4wd grip and monster tune always going to be a winning combination on the track unfortunately.

The Evos had an amazing battle in the last 5 mins of the day with the NR Autosport Evo piloted by Gavin Renshaw acieving a 1:26.5 lap time. Unbelievable

Well Im just back home now. A long and cold day.

Thankfully Bob is not injured just a bit shaken.

I have some pictures and can add more info after I have a coffee and get settled here. I have been out of the house since 6.30 this morning.

Jaffa came 3rd in Club RWD.

Talk later

Though 4WD doesn't translate as invincible by any stretch.....

Time attack is a very brutal and unforgiving type of motorsport. It might just look like a few practise laps and no real racing .........But nothing could be further from the truth.

There are a lot of damaged and broken motors heading home tonite.

So.... back to the early morning with both slicktops looking good and ready for action.

Sadly Bob had an "off" in practice and damaged the car as you have already seen. It was not useable.

Bob was not injured and the car is fixable.

I dont really want to discuss this any more tonite as Im still quite upset about it myself..

Here are a few general pics I took ..........................

Talking of Jimmer.... here are a couple of pics of him with Jaffas car.

He seems to be pointing to something on the back of the car??

I wonder if its the "Powerzed" sticker???:biggrin:

As already said Jaffa came third in RWD clubman division only a couple of hundredths of a sec behind Ronnie Amis in his Sierra Cosworth. One of the most experienced and quick men in the class.

This was a superb effort for James who deserves to be congratulaed for it.

Im sure he will pop along tomorrow to tell you more about his day.....

apart from the incident, looks like a good day out, i've got to make sure i go to the round at brands hatch this year.

glad there was no injury's.

Bob has new wheels Pete?

In Time Attack you need to have a set of "dry" tyres and a set of "wets". Wets need to be worn if the organizers call a wet race condition.

This picture is with the "wets" on the bronze Volks. It was my first job this morning to get the car changed to the dry /silver coloured Volks that it is usually pictured with, Sadly it was the only job i did apart from assisting in getting it back on the trailer,

It was freezing! but the track was dry and pretty consistent throughout the day. Don't try to second guess the cause of the accident, I'm sure Bob & Pete will update once they understand it themselves.

I feel bad for Bob as there is so much cost and effort involved just to turn up, so to have an incident, especially so early in the day must be crushing. Hopefully it can be repaired cheaply and be back for the next round.

I'm wiped today, but will gather some pics / vids and post shortly

Firstly well done to James that wasn't a bad time at all.

My car is quite messed up but I am absolutely fine. Most likely reason for crash was pedals too close together meaning I pressed throttle at the same time as braking. There was a lot new with the car and a lot of bespoke elements but we were working on it right up to the last minute and went with what we had. When doing the roll cage the welder put all the pedals to the right of the steering column. It was obviously going to be difficult but time constraints meant I decided to live with it and try and work it out. On Sunday night we were dropping the seat height as I couldn't sit in the car with my helmet on and was hitting the roll cage with my head so focused on that. At the same time we decided to lift the throttle pedal as it was sitting low.

So running the car on Monday was simply going to be about a first test unfortunately the first thing we found out was also the last lol.

We hadn't even been able to map it as they couldn't stop the wheels spinning on the dyno!

I also didn't realise the locking mechanism was still on the doors and we probably did as much damage trying to force the doors open as the crash! In the end I slid out the gap between the window and the roof :)

If the car is repairable (and it's a big IF) then I think there's potential to be quick. I was still warming up and on only the second lap but managed a little bit of air on The Mountain so the power increase and weight loss worked. Having said that there is still an awful lot of testing to make this car quick in the real world as we've changed so many bits it was a bit like driving a meccano toy.

Will find out later this week what the prognosis is but I might end up taking my road car out on track instead. At least I'll be able to play some tunes :)

More overtime needed at work still then :(

Roll on Croft and hopefull complete a full session

Thanks James it was pretty crushing but I've always known taking the car in this direction meant the risk was increasing a lot. I had hoped for a bit more track time though :) Looks like your day went pretty well look forward to the updates.

Photo's and Video, story to follow later today when I get some time. A huge thanks to Jimmer though for getting the car complete on time, and putting a very solid engine together, didn't miss a beat all day
