Hello all,

As you may already know, ive not had the car that long, but the first thing i done to her was oil and filter change, fuel filter change, plugs changed (iridium) , starts first time everytime. brilliant response from the throttle, but theres a little white smoke and what seems to be water-oil-soot type stuff spitting out the exhausts, is this due to the turbos going tits up? or is it just cos of the size of the back boxes? she smokes a little when started from cold but when i floor it theres hardly any or none at all. i guess im just being causious , i dont want the thing to give up on me, and if theres anything i can do to prevent this im happy to take your expert advice!

Thank you

Doesnt look like anything to worry about, just moisture build up in the exhaust...Lee

maybe its the cold weather.............

It certainly doesnt help bud..:ninja:

My new Zed has been doing the same mate but I thought ( as Lee stated) that its probably condensation, that and the fact its been so cold recently.

I would worry too much,

When a Zed goes wrong, you'll know about it!

I haven't mate, did you want them then? The nuts from your alloys will be fine ( plus probably better than the cheap sh#ty ones that I had).

Mine is exactly the same, no cats and big exhausts make these cars put out a huge amount of condensation. Mine was spitting out little black balls of soot too they left a little heap on the drive, I had slightly overfilled the oil and it just spat it out. I was beside myself thinking it was gona die but it just sorted itself and drives strong as an ox, and I did the turbo seal check of kicking its arse for a few miles then letting it tick over for 5 mins and it passed.

simple explanation of petrol combustion..

2C8H18 + 25O2 ~> 16CO2 + 18H2O

so with a bigger engine you get even more water, very noticeable in winter when it's cold...
