We have just removed passenger side turbo on my z, it has oil feeds but no water feeds they have been blanked, drivers side also has the pipes blanked off from the water feed side, is the other end of these water feeds on the inlet manifold? Seems to be some metal pipes welded here?? What's the reasoning for removing these water feeds?

at some point in your cars life .. it had split rubber water pipes going to the tubs ..

now the Proper way would be to Replace or do a reroute of the pipe work .

but some garages/people will just blank off the pipe work

i have seen this now on 3 cars

it wont hurt your tubs but i would recommend it be sorted out propers

As Mark said its not unusual to see the water feeds removed, given the many series problem caused by water leaks in this area its not a bad idea.

do you have a pic ? what this welding your talking about

but regardless of NA/TT there are water pipes going under the Plenum AKA Manifold .. if this is what you are talking about

yes thats right ... on the passenger side throttle body it feeds the water to the turbo the pipe if its still there kind drops down a little and runs along level with the cam cover

Just behind the throttle body underneath the plenum is a 2pin flange that has been chopped and welded both sides

Think your talking about the egr pipes deletion under the plenum.

I think both of these have been done, do many people run with egr delete and turbo water cooling blanked? Also, when I put my replacement turbo back I assume the gaskets will need replacing should these be gotten from main dealer? Thanks
