mmmmmmm I think its time to design a new inlet manifold from scratch

nothing to do with the shop guys this is for me if works well you never know but i think it could be time this year to make a new design of inlet manifold despite the stock one being very good

:)

i was thinking out aloud a little i have a few ideas r35gtr has excellent flow design and is very similar to the supercharged v6 mr2 one i made only issue is strut brace clearence gonna start having a play next month i think

Dear Silverline, please fabricate for me a centre-feed single intake plenum so I can have twin top mounted HX35s or BW S200s. I'll need suitable exhaust manifolds as well :)

If I can squeeze 487bhp out of a completely stock 2L 3SGTE, just think what can be done with a stock 3L VG30DETT and some proper turbos

Cheers

Theres plenty of people running over 500 in the us one running 800 on sock internals, and one chap running frint mounted tubs il dig.it.up later

500bhp is nothing for a Jap 6cyl engine IMO. If I do eventually get time to fit some monster turbos to a stock VG, I'll be going for silly figures.

Will it be just a dyno monster or an actual useable car?

Depends where I decide to take it I guess. For me, a Dyno-Queen showcase car is not such a bad thing. I'll never strip it out so it will always be usable on the roads, though. It's going to be one of my daily drivers for quite some time. My MR2 was usable enough until I fitted a non-silenced 3.5" pipe off the T78 straight out the side!

dear Noz theres nothing i cant make please your sketches and i will make it happen :)

it will be very interesting to see results & I hope a before & after dyno test is carried out to see results to power output.

As well as the ability for flow rates, intake manifolds runner lengths are very important for power delivery - a short run is great for peak power at higher revs but a longer route (if designed correctly) will greatly improve mid range torque & drivability.

This is why most modern engines use a variable length manifold with switchover valves to vary the length

- like this one? :)

Exactly like that :D

Brilliant. Once I've gone as far as I can with the stock set up, I'll be looking to run top-feed injectors JECS or DSM injectors, top-mount turbos (could even test that set up with stock turbos to start with) and of course a single-entry intake manifold.

top feed injector rails are done and on my car :)

Single entry manifold no problem sir lol
