  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

My new steering wheel arrived this morning, massive thanks to Si (Mondo) for his top quality work. I definitely need my seats doing! Hopefully next year for those though!

…...That's exactly what the steering wheel would look like if the z32 was made today...

Makes me want to revert to my oem wheel.

I can't remember what steering wheel you have Gary? I do love the OEM one though, think they really suit the interior

I have a red stitch Momo wheel which is slightly smaller that the oem wheel.

One of my very few dislikes about the 300 is the steering wheel. Actually it’s not the wheel itself, the none airbag wheel is very nice, it’s the lack of leg room when getting in the car which could have been sorted if the steering wheel could be raised. I’ve been toying with one of these flat bottom wheels in the hope it might just give me the extra space I would like and still look OEMish.

Has anyone tried one of these steering wheels? Also would there be fitting issues as is says it’s for a “90-“91 300zx?

Cheers,

Chris.

Those “thickened” wheels aren’t very attractive in my opinion. Maybe Mondo can look into what’s required for the flattening of the bottom section?

No that sounds like a good idea.

The oem wheel is very big and that was why I changed to a smaller one. One problem with the smaller wheel is it blocks out your indicator lights on the dash so you end up driving up the road with them still on if they don't click of.

This may well fix that problem Gary (as it does with the stock wheel and being tall):

Project 1547 - Out of the Blue

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

Last weekend involved some 'enthusiastic' driving (150+ miles) across the stunning Lake District countryside in beautiful weather....this weekend.... another outing...but at a more leisurely pace....

Took part in the London to Brighton Classic Car run yesterday....fantastic weather...interesting route through the Kent and East Sussex countryside with a stop at Penshurst Place.....and some fantastic cars on display.

As far as I could see (500+ cars) I was in the only 300ZX...but there were two 240z taking part

I was interviewed at the finish line where the commentator stated he had been looking forward to seeing my car as it was "The first Japanese Super Car"

My car performed impeccably (again) even when confronted with dozens of cyclists taking part in a race up Ditchling Beacon....which meant slipping first gear up narrow roads behind the struggling cyclists!....many older cars struggled with fuel starvation (such a steep incline) and burned out clutches!

As well as the Classic Car run (>25 years old) there was a Sports and Kit car run taking a different route that interchanged with the main route...so pretty much anyone could have taken part.

I have a very red face and arms (roof off going there)...roof on and A/C cranked up on the way home....great day all round.

Car looks great Gary.

Sorry I've been absent at recent outings.

Having just had my hip replacement ( done in Calais) last Monday

I am hoping to be back on the road soon!

Got a working auto box in ( thanks to Alic) so the Z is in better shape that me

Nice one Gary - I am pleased the day went well mate...!!

Well done Gary! Next year my car will be old enough to take part in the run which I will enter. Hopefully we can get

more Club Z32's taking part. Would love to have a "London to Brighton" plaque for the garage!

….And I completely echo what Andrew says. Mine's a 1994 too - so why the hell not....

Didn't realise till tax reminder came through my MOT has expired !

Booked in next week

HID's removed H3c bulbs to go in.

Also going to try removing these scratches on the drivers window this afternoon.

After my car had been smoking quite a bit when warmed up, I ordered a set of PCVs and tonight, I've just fitted them. Hopefully, this will clear up my exhaust smoke!

Also, I had to use a fair bit of degreaser after I finished as the hose that connects to the driver's side pcv had come off.... No idea how long that had popped off for! Obviously this spewed a load of nasty residue below it!

I'll take it out tomorrow to see if there's any improvement!

Had a great weekend of Wedding this week.... I spent the day with Phutumsch yesterday while he did some light repair work on my centre panel. Was really good to catch up with him as I've not seen him in ages! Thanks for all the work and hospitality whilst I was there Andy!

Then, today my father in law has organised a family fun day and wanted a few cars to attend. It's been a brilliant day with all the family and friends in the sun. Ian Greenfield and Gary Moore came down in their Z's too. Was great to catch up with them both!
