  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

I like that.

I think the other main colour in there should be either black or chrome so polish or powdercoat:thumbup:

I was thinking black powder coat and red couplers, but I'm not set, it may look too dark...

Kool!!! Glue or double sided adhesive

It comes with double sided sticky on iirc, sure i just used that and managed to get it totally square - i would recommend a blob of silicone perhaps instead of/aswell, this will not damage and it'll give you some wiggle time, once happy you can masking tape over to secure overnight.

Is your airbag "live"?

I am ahead of you - here's one i aahheeerm deployed earlier

The airbag did not dislodge the horn buttons fyi.

I broke the tee vacuum connector which goes from my induction nipples, to the boost controller. Will it be alright to start with a huge vacuum leak?

Called at the BMW dealership today for service parts for my BMW and thought the Z looked good against the line of BMs.

The rarest thing in that picture is finding a parking space at a dealership (of any Marque!)

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

Always find one right outside the door of my local Nissan dealer. Although that's probably because it's gradually becoming a Hyundai dealer!

Managed to fit my new wheels and spacers at last, have to say a BIG thanks to Funkysi (not sure how to tag him properly) for his help with offsets and tyres.

Spent the day with Lee at LA for an mot and was hoping to get my Tein coilovers on. On the plus side the Z passed with no advisories, the down side being I was told that standard top mounts would work with the coilovers, turns out they didn't. So new top mounts required.

In preparation for my coilovers I purchased some plain coilover covers and had a friend of mine put a logo on the sides so they look the part.

So the hunt for top mounts and centre caps begins :)

Been out in the workshop stripping the front suspension parts to individual pieces, ready for some soda blasting and rust removal now......

Roll on tomorrow.......

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Spent the day pulling bits off the donor car and had Sparkysparks over to pick up a couple of bits. Nice guy. Had a good chat. Nice to meet another member and especially one so local..

I then had to get the workshop cleared out a little to be able to fit the IBC in ready to start work on it.

It's being turned In to a new tank for my hydrographic dipping.

I also had time to start dipping some other parts for my car and prepping some parts for a customer..

I reworked the fusebox cover I got from Richy Speed and it ended up looking like this..

I could make it look very special Alic...

I treated the zed today to some new JL Audio C2 525 components for the front bose speaker enclosures I am fitting, some C3 650 for the rear... And a oem 99 spec shift knob from Seattle.

Forgot to mention, whilst at Lee's yesterday, had a quick oil and oil filter change. Fresh lot of Mobil 1 10w 40:)

I've considered those bose enclosures Chris, but don't know much about them and the sound quality difference.

I've seen them advertised on fleebay.

Are they much of an improvement?

I'm thinking of building some custom speaker pods for the front doors to house my gold speakers and now I've got lots of door cards to use it should make life simpler..

Any pictures of the shift knob? Need to replace mine sometime so it'd be good to see the difference from the series one spec..

How much did it cost mate?

Lol.. Ok, but I'll be waiting... Eagerly... Lol

Something to consider - the Bose front enclosures are tuned specifically for the original Bose driver and the base reflex port.

Larger speakers mounted in them have generally not worked out so well on low frequency extension but tend to perform better

on midrange than the OEM "infinite baffle" brackets. I have a pair of Bose front enclosures if you want to have a go.

It will work out to around £100 by the time I receive it.

I'm currently modifying the bose boxes to accept a 5.25" driver so no reports on sound yet, I will experiment with sealing the port and or using acoustic fill. The bose boxes use pretty much all the space available so making any boxes yourself is probably not worth the hassle, I've also used dynamat extreme on the bose boxes and it has drastically changed how they sound to the touch.

Got my top intercooler hardpipes finished..

I feel like this engine bay is going to be very "haunting"!
