  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

I revamped my roller blind / parcel shelf today..

The previous owner had used gaffa tape to cover a piece of the vinyl covering that had split and it has been bugging me cos it looked pants.

So I tried to take the vinyl off by warming it with a hairdryer and peeling it.. The glue they use on that stuff is amazing..

Ended up burning the vinyl off with a heat gun. Then went over it with a wire wheel on the drill to clean it up.

After about two hours, I got it in red oxide primer..

I'll show you it finished tomorrow

I think you've just solved my water leak Dutch.. Every now and then when I open the boot, I get water running out from under the plastic trim right where that wiper motor is..

I'm thinking this is my problem too..

Where did you get the wiper seal from?

Had to order it from CZP as Nissan have stopped making them. I'd be quick about it.

Ted, that's the wrong sander, not surprised you're getting grooves and gouges under the paint. That's for sanding wood and flat panelling, it will mess up anything with curves. You need a rotary or orbital sander with a foam pad and a wide head to cope with gradient changes. Looks like you have waaayyy too much paint on there too.

Honestly Si, it's crystal clear.................he's going for a brushed look and the sandstorm thingy is for blowing the dust away......you know nowt, doh !!

Well, finished the final coat on the parcel shelf today..

And as promised here is the finished product.

Was a bit of a sod trying to work out the winding mechanism for the return spring but swore a few times and It all fell in to place!

Anyway, one more thing to be done, that's now in the done list!

Gonna try and fit the two rear quarter interior panels tomorrow and then get on with the polishing, waxing and endless stone chip touch ups... Then break out the weather cover to protect my hard work!

Looks good! I was wondering whether you were going to paint it some vile colour or colour code it - but that looks really clean and slick!

Well redid the bonnet again haven't got one of them si so have to do it by hand did some laqure though image.jpg

Much better, but you're still laying it on a little thick I think, especially on that door. I'm sure it'll work out though when you colour sand it.

That's when I start panicking when it comes to the colour sanding I'm also doing part of the wing mirror the same colour

Just take your time and don't be too abrasive, plenty of soapy water, smooth motions. By the looks of it, you've got enough lacquer on there not to be that worried! lol

Thanks Si.. Im pleased with it.

I couldn't have colour coded it and wouldn't have. It wouldn't look right, so you see I can differentiate between sensible and slightly mad.. Only sometimes though.. Lol
