squeaking belt is the Main one for alt/pump just tighen it up on the adjuster

the sound your talking about looked like it was with the same time as the Vac gauge doing down @ 2.00m in ..

the other other thing that could make that sound at the bk there is fuel pump or abs unit

ty mark now i need to see how i go about tightening that up as im not used to doing the belts etc on cars

humming noise is abs unit it usually hums like that when there is a fault but if the abs light isnt on then i'm confused, maybe first job is to get rid of that black fluid out of master cylinder and go from there!

punctuation!!

also in your opinion how is she looking overall worth all the cash im about to pump into her

to what i seen of the car .. well she needs a new tail gate .. not worth the repair on it

and if the Sills are ok then sort out any little dints and respray will bring that bk to stretch

oh and some TLC in the engine bay

the adjuster sits just under the alternator ..

Loosen the Main 17mm Pivot bolt

loosen the 12mm adjuster lock nut

then on the end of the adjuster there is the 12mm Bolt/hex to move the alt in/out

tighten the belt and lock off the main 17mm and adj nut

Yeah ill get on that - there is no lights on at all unless one of the abs fuses has one so its not reporting i dont know

mark yeah i was thinking just get a new tailgate you know anyone that has a good one for sale? there is no dings or dents in her shes is the straightest used motor i have ever brought

also i still dont know if the overheating is sorted as i cant get her out on the round to put her under any load or stress. the previous owner said it overheated badly but ive seen no evidence of this yet

have u got a workshop manual if not u will be able to find a copy of the abs codefinder on the internet if you remove panel behind drivers seat the abs ecu is stored there and after driving a few metres it will present you with a fault diagnose using repeating lights for code, but first u might be right checking fuses and relay, if it isnt the abs the fuel pump mod is a very easy fix its a matter of a couple of screws and straight swap of the ecu behind passenger seat under panel 2get diagnoses in motion

yeah i did and got rid of a load of crap that was in there as for a workshop man cant find a good hardcopy anywere

It looks quite similar to mine when I bought it last year just needing a bit of updating. i changed the back lights to clear lights, clear side indicators and a new spoiler and it made a big difference! And a polish aswel but will need a respray as soon as I can afford it.

As long as its a solid car you won't be wasting your money.

Well worth going forward with it bud...motors pulling good vacume on idle too, always a good point.

Will be an exellent car and drive for a £6K injection but dont be mis-guided in thinking you will be getting your investment back when you ever sell, but hell thats part of the fun:cool3:
