Has anyone put a resistor inline with a after market water gauge sensor? The ecu water temp showing 79 degrees but the aftermarket gauge showing 88 degrees? Anyone help?

Just confused why there is difference going from electric fan back to viscus? Its not a new gauge, its a new top hose + sensor i've fitted with the viscus fan cover, run the car around and the after market gauge goes up to 90? I have not had the laptop plugged in while driving yet. Just scares me looking at the gauge.

is the sensor compatible with the current gauge?

The sensor i bought off ebay due to the original one thread stripped while removing, does this make a difference?

yea some of the gauges have to be matched with the sensor

Wouldnt worry too much, the car is not classed as over heating until temps reach 105, then the electric fan should kick in, nissan service manual says 115, but to me thats way too high.

My after market gauge reads correctly with its original temp sensor (one that came with it) but was way off when i put it on the one already in place before i swapped it out.
