Sticky on number plates

Ive bought a sticky on number plate after lots of research into the legality of it all..

its so ambiquous..

one thing I cannot find the answer to.

does it have to stuck on the front bumper or can I stick it to the top of the windscreen as it will still be visible.

All documentation says front and rear and in a visible and clear location. also fonts, spacings etc..

cant make up my mind what to do on this one...

i got my Full sized one on the top passenger front window .. been pulled up a few times and nothing of it what so ever ...

Long as its reflective and with the correct lettering/spacing u should be ok .

this has been talked about but i can not remember the outcome of it ..

for mot purposes the plate has to be:

fixed vertically, or as close to vertical as is reasonably practical.

so I would say you are on dodgy ground on a windscreen as raked as ours!

Do you think Dean? worse than a huge goofy plate blocking your FMIC..

just do the job properly & get some uprated SMIC's :whistling:

ps - thats a joke before everyone with front mounts takes offence!! (although SMIC's are better!! :tt2: )

Depends on the bumper I guess, I have a front mount and even a legal plate wouldn't restrict airflow. However I have a 3/4 size plate on this one and my old zed.

3/4 ones do attract attention though, ive heard stories of police issuing tickets at services and all sorts, want to keep it legal (ish) lol..

Ive heard SMIC's are better but also heard they are for wimps... lol.. for toy tuners and all that... lol....

wonder what everyone else thinks...?????

I got pulled by plod for having the plate in the window, for ANPR purposes it needs to be at the front of the vehicle, also MOT purposes as Paul mentioned.

I left it in the window for another couple of weeks and got flagged down by plod on foot and a polite warning that im on a target list to be stopped for the plate in the window, needless to say its back on the bumper now and have had no issues.

It depends how anal they feel on the day i guess, but for peace sake i put it back on.

Laid on the dash but propped up to face forward. I guess its like where you put the tax disc on the window, we are so used to having it at the bottom left of the window, but some have it at the top, some top middle, same for number plates too lol, they have always been in a certain area and attract attention if not.

iv got a fmic so when ready mines going to be a lightly smaller front plate and to mount it im going to loose about an inch of the top of the plate becas of mounting issues officer?
