So, the car has just been sat on my drive for ages. So, the battery is completely flat as I didn't disconnect it. So since the snow has gone I'm thinking I might start it up. Is there anything specific that I should do before starting her? Apart from charging the battery lol

The first thing you need to do is slap urself for

1, allowing snow to get on it.

2, not putting a cover over it.

And finaly

3, not using it for so long that the battery has died....

Other than that just do usual oil and coolent checks.

A few cranks to help some oil before starting.

As suggested, pull the fuel pump fuse and crank it over until the oil pressure builds. Never hurts to give it some freah oil if it has been standing for a while :)

Started mine for the first time in 6 months today

It too had been wrapped in a nice snow blanket

Had to jump start it as some rodent had chewed through my charger cable

Sounds like a tractor that needs servicing

Drove it to the end of the drive and onto the back of a truck and waved goodbye

As it drove off i thought damm that looks good, cant wait to get it back once Jeffs given it some loving

How long has the car been sitting for Lee..... ....A couple of weeks, a month or longer...?

The longest I have left mine for without starting is 4 weeks - although it is garaged all the time. I just start it as normal and drive off TBH (after a couple of seconds idling whilst I close the garage door LOL) - if you have good oil in the sump it will circulate quickly enough and any slight rattles where all the oil in the top end has drained back into the bottom should vanish in a second or two!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
