my targa leak is causing the carpet to get damp, and because of the weather snow etc etc ive not driven the car so its not warming up and dying out, tso its causing me real issues. ive done the usual and pulled up the front edge and pumped it full of selant, it didn't really stop it. its coming out the front piece of the targa. just a small drip but constant. the targa itself is saturated.

i got some all weather sealant (apparently for cars) from halfrauds, may as well of just left the targa roof off, think i would of got less water in the damn thing, doesnt seal worth a piece of crap, will get a photo of it tomorrow so people can stay clear of it. sticks to the rubber but not the metal, think its just too cold out their for it to set properly and get a decent grip on the metal.

Just bear in mind, should you wish to dissasemble your t top this ( i.e change your trim) will make it a bit difficult to say the least.

thats a secondry problem..the 1st problem is soaking wet b0ll0x:whistling:

My point exactly... wouldn't want soggy doo dahs to become a permanent feature

I used RTV silicon sealant the JeffTT recommended.. Bought it for £1.99 delivered off ebay and 2 years later, still no leaks! Goes like rubber and was able to form newer thicker parts on the rubber that had shrunk over the years.

Followed the instructions but still leaking. If I run my finger under the seal on the targa itself, its soaking. Is it ok to seal along there also or will this effect the Window sealing shut. The rubber is very soft.

Im the same, i resorted to using electrical tape along the roof edge as im fed up with either my pillar gauge pod filling up, my arm getting wet where the drips come from the targa, or the door trim getting soaked, not to mention the massive puddle i have on my drivers seat where the bin bag is that ive put there to collect what ever drips in the car.

Think i might just have to knuckle down and get some new roof seals, these ones are not sealing worth a pile of crap.

Mines still leaking aswel but think its coming in where the door glass meets the targa roof rubber. Gonna try adjusting the glass so it comes in tighter.

Try looking at your door latches. The plastic had come off mine so the door didn't pull in fully. It's not leak free but it's way better.

Also check your targa end caps/finisher, i have only just realised mine has been missing while contemplating buying new for the respray and the end cap helps hold the lip of the targa rubber tight to the targa body, without it, leaks inside the outer end cap and on to my lap.
