as u know i'm rebuilding my engine and wanting to up the CC

 

Now Bore Wall Thickness

i have sized up my External Bore and its coming in at 98.2mm .. now if i re-bore my block to 90mm this will leave me with 4mm thick wall

is this 2 thin ? as just wondering as every one makes pistons up to 90mm ..

if anyones going to know the limits of the wall i think jimmer will know...having said that iff they sell 90mm then ime sure its been tested.I think its only steel liners into alloy blocks that it starts getting serious on wall thickness like Rover V8,s

Surely with such a big overbore shouldnt you consider x raying the block and cryotreating to ensure longevity?

 

 

The bore wall thickness will vary throughout the water jacket.

yeah would be .. if there was any one over here that could do it ..

 

Other than that there are other ppl that done it without doing the above

i can go to 90mm and leave 4mm wall thickness but i need to Check it all over
