Hi guys has above helping oobumblebeoo with his engine rebuild,

Just wanted a bit of advice, stripped all 24 of the hydraulic lifters cleaned and rebuilt them done this to lots of other cars but mainly 4pots that if there was a problem could strip it back down in no time,

But being a zed not that easy lol,

Normally id just use tiny smear of oil or lube so there not dry put it back together and let it build its oil up incase I put to much in and end up with valves staying open.

Anyone built the lifters or know if thats wrong to do on a zed..

All the rest has gone well, changed all the stem seals, re ground all the valves what a mission 24 of the buggers..

Put his new 525 turbos on and new oil feeds..

Misses wants to kill me cause done it in the kitchen, bit cleaner then my garage.

Well incase oobumblebeoo is reading a couple of pics for him to see..

Do you charge good rates for local people off here Terry?!

Dont really do zeds much anymore, done nearly everything to one though lol.

Turbos even with engine still in, changed engines, manual conversion etc.

Was working mobile doing all cars, but now started job in london again and doing mot inspector course.

So time is the problem, Oobumblebeoo went half with me on a breaker zed and I said id put his engine together and drop it in,

I get the spare car for spares for my zed..

If u have a problem with your car and I can help, long has its not massive and u dont mind getting dirty too I help out for free if I can..

But has oobumblebeoo knows im a mechanic and can do most stuff and know my way round a zed but im no expert with them, even more so when it comes to performance stuff.

I just work in garages doing the normal stuff not aftermarket.

Ah fair play, always handy to know there may be a useful pair of hands nearby in the event of it trying to kill itself!

I'm no mechanic but don't mind giving it a go... but the z scares me... Dunno why really, guess its because I've always had older 4 pot Fords and this is a million miles away from one of them!

Most things are tight but say like the cambelts take the rad out and u end up with a ton of room and easy to do compared to some front wheel drive crap same has clutch I love doing them, do say a mondeo or new mini then do a zed easy peasy..

Lot of it looks worse then it is.

Another stupid car do a starter on I think its an ls400 lexus its in the middle of the v 300 is easy.

Most normal stuff cambelts, clutches, starter, alternator etc is set out easy to do, its only things like turbos that is a pain but really they should last 100k.

Some front wheel drives have to pull engine to change clutch/timing belts.

If u ever need an hand just pm me, I'll help anyone if I can..
