Ok guys no alternative but to remain closed for the weekend, no zeds can be collected and no new ones dropped off due to the poor access onto the business park let alone the motorway system! as we have been suffering a slight amount of inclement weather today and apparently more to come later tonight!!

Trouble is I have NEVER in nearly 10 years of membership had one, and many members here will agree and it should not happen, I cannot believe that there is not some software that can 100% handle such a small job.

As for your subscription, having looked into it in more detail, it is usual for the forum software to notify everyone about a week or so before renewal time; whether one is subbed, a trader, a moderator, or committee member. However the forum software will only send the notification to the last known e-mail address (or addresses) stored in each members' profile; so if someone's e-mail address is not up to date, any notification will not get issued to the right place.

 

It seems that many members have not updated their profiles after changing or accumulating additional e-mail addresses; hence the reason Jeff (among others) no longer receive warnings. So Jeff's expiry reminder did get issued; but to an e-mail address no longer valid. Following the new forum upgrade, Lee does receive notifications that e-mails have been rejected - but of course, he will not know what members' correct email addresses are - hence cannot do anything more with that information. Hope that makes sense!

 

I am going to put a reminder thread in committee announcements; to encourage all members to keep their profile updated on the system to ensure notifications are received in a timely manner. Like any computer software, its capabilities are naturally limited by the information originally input into it!!!

EDIT - Actually Lee does not automatically receive notifications that outgoing e-mails are returned undelivered. In Jeff's case, Lee went and manually searched the forum software to find out why Jeff had not received his e-mail!!

Having read many of your posts today Jeff about your subs expiring, sure you'll correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sorry but I can only see it as you being totally to blame.

 

I got my reminder at the turn of the year no problem and duly paid :cool3:.

 

A reminder email was sent and to a contact email address that you have put in your profile nobody else, yes it was bounced back to Lee but it isn't his job to keep running around after members, if that was the case the lad wouldn't have a life.

 

I would hope that now on reflection you can see the error of your ways and offer the club an apology for your over reaction :yes:.
